Courses, Clubs, and Programs

At Mrs Hannah’s English Center, we offer 3 types of English lessons- Basic Programs, Premium Clubs, and Special Courses. Each of these has different requirements and caters to different student needs. Continue reading for more information on the programs, clubs, and courses.

Basic Programs

Basic Programs are the backbone of Mrs. Hannah’s English Center. These programs are open to all students with a basic membership, and they do not require extra registration or attendance. You are welcome to attend as many of these programs as you want, but there is no minimum attendance requirement.

  • Tea Time

    Tea Time is an opportunity to freely and casually chat with Mrs Hannah about any topic you want. It is a casual group discussion with no planned lesson. Think of it as casually chatting with a friend over tea.

  • Movie Night

    Movie Night is a session where students watch an English language movie together. This helps students improve their English listening skills, contextual knowledge of English vocabulary and grammar, and intercultural knowledge & competency. After the movie, Mrs Hannah will lead students through a guided discussion about the movie to improve their speaking and listening comprehension skills.

  • Game Day

    Game Day is an opportunity for students to play fun and interactive English language games with Mrs Hannah. These games help students to learn and practice specific English vocabulary, improve their listening and speaking skills, and have fun!

  • TED Talking

    TED Talking is a session where participants will all listen to a TED talk together, and then have a guided group discussion related to it. Students have the opportunity to improve their listening and speaking skills about a relevant topic.

    Open to all language levels, but intended for B1+ level learners

  • Conversation Club

    Conversation Club is a session where Mrs Hannah leads students through a guided conversation about a new topic each week. Students may read an article or watch a video together about the topic for that week, and learn new vocabulary words relevant to that topic. Mrs Hannah then leads students through a guided group discussion to improve their English speaking skills. No students are required to speak, but all students are encouraged to do so

  • General English

    General English is a free add-on to the Basic Membership. We offer two groups for General English: Foundational English (A1-A2) and Intermediate English (B1-B2). These are standard English lessons where you learn grammar, vocabulary, and strategies for reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

Special Courses

Special Courses are intensive goal-focused English courses where students are expected to learn about and complete projects about a particular topic. Special Courses 6-12 weeks depending on the course, and are offered at an additional fee. Students must register in advance and participate in the whole course, and no late registration will be accepted. Special Courses are very intensive and often require much more homework, and they are assessed at the end of the course by completing a course project. Certificates will be awarded to all students who complete all of the requirements for the course. Special Courses rotate, and new courses are offered every few months. Check back regularly to see which special courses are currently being offered.

  • Application Writing Course

    The Application Writing Course is an intensive 6 week course that prepares students to apply for international universities. In this course, students will learn about the application process, what universities are looking for in an applicant, how to research universities and scholarships, and how to write strong application essays. Mrs Hannah will personally check all application documents and essays. By the end of this course, students will choose and apply to at least 1 international university.

  • Career Development Course

    The Career Development Course is an intensive 8 week course for young adults interested in working in international companies. In this course, students will learn how to plan their careers, how to write CVs and Resumes, how to use job finding websites, how to act in Job interviews, and how to establish professional networking profiles. By the end of this course, students will have the skills necessary to apply for jobs at international companies.
