“(Dis)ableing notions of authentic leadership through the lens of critical disability theory” by Greg Procknow, Tonette S. Rocco, and Sunny L. Munn (2017)

A great exemplification of Critical Disability Studies and its applicability as a focal point for critical inquiry. Easy and approachable, the authors masterfully dissect prevalent assumptions about leadership and conduct an inquiry on where individuals with disabilities fit (or don’t fit) within those assumptions. This article also has implications for transformative learning stemming from its ability to identify and present taken-for-granted assumptions to the reader in a way that highlights cognitive dissonance and forces transformation of the reader’s paradigms for approaching the subject of leadership.
